Specialist growers of culinary, medicinal & historic herbs since 1987.
Blackbrook Herb Gardens is a small specialist nursery growing a range of approximately 150 culinary, medicinal and historic herb plants and wild flowers. We were established in 1987 as a specialist landscaper designing, planting and maintaining herb gardens and have built extensive knowledge of how to create a successful herb garden. We sell competitively priced plants in a range of sizes and pots through the year and offer seasonal additions such as spring bulbs and colourful cottage garden perennials in the summer.
The nursery is located in Wilmslow, Cheshire, just west of the King's Arms roundabout. Please call us for more detailed directions. Opening times vary with the season and weather. In the main growing season we are open at some time most days of the week and aim to be available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and weekends. If you want to visit at a specific time we will try and help - please can we recommend a telephone call if you are coming a distance. We are a small family business and we will answer the phone personally or call you back as soon as possible if you leave us a message.

With over 30 years experience growing the many herbs on our website we are able to offer advice and suggestions on how to grow things successfully. This includes what to grow where, best soil conditions, culinary knowledge, companion planting and simple history on where plant names originate from. We have a helpful leaflet on frequently asked questions and growing tips. We try to offer talks and guided tours about the plants in the garden and plan to continue to offer events with members and experts from The Herb Society.
Once chives flower, cut them back hard to just a few centimetres above the soil. They'll reshoot quickly and produce fresh, tender leaves for the rest of the season.
Our pot-grown herbs transplant at any time of year, making them ideal for container gardens and patio displays where ground planting isn't an option.
We run occasional guided walks of the nursery in partnership with The Herb Society. Ring us on 01625 539166 to ask about upcoming dates.
