Salad burnet

Hardy perennial. Height approx 12". Interesting rounded leaflets and red flower heads (Sanguisorba). Deep rooting and drought resistant. Unusually this herb is a soft leaved evergreen and can be used throughout the year. Leaves have a cucumber flavour and work well in salads and chopped into soft cheeses. Variegated variety sometimes available.
